Bible Lesson 2
Who Is God?
God is Holy and Powerful!
One of the main characteristics that the Bible communicates about God is that he is holy. This means he is special, set apart, uncommon, sacred. It also means that he is morally good, pure and right. And he is holy to such an extreme degree that the only way to describe it is to say it again: Holy, Holy Holy!
Another one of God’s most prominent characteristics is his power. We call him omnipotent, which basically means all-powerful; he can do anything! God poses a question through the prophet Jeremiah: “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?” Thankfully, the answer is No!

Dios es santo y poderoso
Salmo 33 (NVI)
(8) Tema toda la tierra al Señor; hónrenlo todos los pueblos del mundo;
God is holy and powerful
Psalm 33
The word of the Lord is righteous; faithful are all his works.
The Lord loves justice and righteousness; full is the earth of his love.
By the word of the Lord were the heavens created, and by the breath of his mouth, the stars.
He gathers in a bucket the waters of the seas, and collects the oceans in jars.
Fear the Lord, all the earth; honor him all the peoples of the world;
Because he spoke, and all was created; he gave a command, and everything stood firm.
The Lord frustrates the plans of the nations; he ruins the designs of the peoples.
But the plans of the Lord remain firm forever; the designs of his mind are eternal.
Isaiah 6
I saw the Lord, seated on a majestic throne, and the edge of his robe filled the temple. There attended him powerful seraphim, each one had six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet and with two they flew. They said to one another:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of the Heavenly Armies! All the earth is filled with his glory!”
Their voices shook the temple to the foundations, and all the building was full of smoke.
