Bible Lesson 28

How should a Christian live?

Living in and by the Word of God

One of the greatest gifts God has given us is his written word. Without it, we would have no idea how to answer the most important questions in life:

  • Why am I here? What is the purpose of life?
  • What happens when I die?
  • What is the right way to live?
  • Is there a God? If so, what does he expect of me?
  • Why do beauty and order exist? How did they come to be?
  • Why do evil and destruction exist?
  • Will the pain and brokenness of this world ever be fixed?

Thank God, we aren’t left wondering about any of these things!

Salmo 119

(9)¿Cómo puede un joven mantenerse puro? Obedeciendo tu palabra.

2 Timoteo 3

Psalm 119

How can a young person keep himself pure? By obeying your word.

I strove so much to find you, don’t permit that I stray from your commands.

I have stored your word in my heart, in order not to sin against you.

I praise you, oh Lord; teach me your decrees.

I recited aloud all the ordinances that you have given us.

I rejoiced in your laws, as much as in riches.

I will study your commandments and I will meditate on your ways.

I will delight myself in your decrees and I will not forget your word.

2 Timothy 3

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us see what is bad in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is correct. God uses it to prepare and equip his people so that they do every good work.
