Bible Lesson 29

How should a Christian live?

Pray with confidence, trusting in God to act

The book of Hebrews says that since Jesus is our Great High Priest, who pleads with God on our behalf, we can approach his throne with confidence. What an amazing blessing!

The God of all power, all love, all understanding and wisdom, who controls volcanoes and supernovas, and pays attention to each sparrow and each hair of your head, is always listening attentively when his children call out to him!

Trust means speaking our cares to God, and relying on him to act on our behalf.

Worry is the opposite of faith, because it shows we really don’t trust that God will do what is best.

But the path of trust leads to peace that goes beyond what we can understand!

Filipenses 4

Philippians 4

Rejoice always in the Lord. I insist: rejoice! May your kindness be obvious to everyone. The Lord is near. Don’t worry about anything; better, on every occasion, with prayer and pleading, present your requests to God and give him thanks. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will care for your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, think well about everything true, everything respectable, everything just, everything pure, everything lovely, everything worthy of admiration, that is, whatever is excellent or deserving of praise. Put into practice what you have learned, received and heard from me, what you have seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.
