Vocab Lesson 11
Part 1: Dictation
Play the recordings and write down the sentences that you hear. You can play the recording multiple times. Once you have finished, check your answers by opening the box below the recording.
Part 2: Repetition for Pronunciation
Play the recording from part 1 again and repeat what you hear out loud. You can do this with the Dictation Key open or closed. You will need to pause the recording to have time to say each phrase before the next one starts.
Do each phrase twice!
Part 3: Listening for Information
As you listen to the following recording, listen for the answers to the following questions. Don’t worry about the parts you don’t understand. Instead, focus on what you do understand, and try to answer the questions in Spanish.
Once you have done your best to answer the questions, please use the button to check your responses.
- ¿Cómo se llama la región de España donde vive Penny?
- ¿Cuántas provincias hay en esa comunidad?
- ¿La ciudad de Coruña es grande, mediana, o pequeña?
- ¿Cómo se llama la bebida favorita de Penny? ¿Hay fruta en esta bebida?
- ¿Ella prefiere esta bebida con hielo o sin hielo?
- En España, ellos usan la palabra “zumo”, no “jugo”. ¿Qué tipo de zumo bebe con el desayuno?
- ¿Le gusta el tocino? ¿Le gusta frito?
- ¿Es común comer la carne en España? ¿Comen la carne asada?
- ¿Ella usa la salsa barbacoa (BBQ) con su carne?
- ¿Ponen muchos chiles en la comida española?
- ¿Cuándo se come mucha sandía en España?
Part 4: Follow along
Use the arrow buttons to open the Spanish and English scripts. Use the following steps:
- Read through the script with English and Spanish side by side, so that you understand what you heard.
- Close the English script, and listen again to the recording from part 3, following along with the Spanish version.
- Close the Spanish script, and listen once more with no script. Do your best to distinguish the words and phrases you are hearing. Focus on understanding the main ideas, not every detail.
